Flips or topsy tails can be a great way to add dimension to a toddler hairstyle. When their hair is coming in, or if you are trying to grow out your toddler’s bangs, this is a simple style that you can turn to and have done in just a few minutes. In this tutorial, I’ve used a topsy tail which you can pick up for just a few dollars on Amazon – Topsy Tail. If you don’t have a topsy tail, you can simple separate the hair with your fingers and pull it through. I just like the topsy tail because it gives me a really clean look with no effort. Get a topsy tail 2 piece here: Topsy Tail I use the smallest one in the package for my toddler’s hair.

Here’s how to get the Fast Flips
1. Section a small portion of hair right at the scalp and in the middle of the head. Secure with an elastic.
2. Separate the hair into 2 and pull your ponytail through the top of the hair. Or if you have a topsy tail, you can see how I pull it through with the video below.
3. Directly behind your first ponytail, part the hair into 2 sections. Take half the hair from the first ponytail and add it to each ponytail directly behind it. Topsy tail each of these sections.
4. Connect the last two sections together and pull the ponytail up and through the middle to create a 4th topsy tail for this style.
Although this toddler hairstyle is a super simple one, directions can be confusing. The video below highlights exactly how you can do this style with ease.
