French braiding and dutch braiding can seem intimidating, especially if you’ve never tried one before. I remember the first time I tried french braiding and it was on myself. I was in 7th grade and really wanted to learn. After I learned, I think I wore my hair braided like that for an entire month straight. They are actually very simple and I’ve had some requests on how to do a dutch braid. I once wasn’t confident doing them, but after lots of practice they’ve become fairly easy to do. You can start with just a small section of hair, it doesn’t have to be the whole head at once. I like to do dutch or french braids in the front of the hair to keep it back and they are so cute as well.
Today we did a double dutch elastics braid style. If you are a beginner, stop your braids after the first elastic and let your toddler wear them like that. Still equally as cute! Watch the video below to learn how to do a dutch braid. I’ll also explain in the video how I got the look that you see in this blog post. I’ll also offer some tips on how to keep fly-aways at bay, if dry or wet hair is the best to work with and more.
