Your Toddler’s First Haircut
My daughter has been needing a haircut for quite some time. It’s really uneven in the back and she has this underneath layer that is thin and needed to be slightly cut up to the back of her hair. I want to continue to have her grow it, but knew it was necessary to trim it up so it looks better and grows out better. I’d heard great things about the Cookie Cutter Salons which are geared just towards kids and I made an appointment for her to have her hair cut there. It was actually the first time I’ve taken any of my kids to a salon to have their hair cut. My husband cuts my boy’s hair but I’m not confident enough to cut my daughter’s, so I would rather someone else do it.
The atmosphere of the salon was fun. There was a slide/climbing toy, a big touch screen tv to play games, the salon chair were cars and airplanes and I could tell the staff was used to their pint sized clients. She got to watch Mickey mouse, eat a sucker and blow bubbles while having her hair cut. The stylist cut off about an inch and it looks so much better and even!
She then styled her hair in a cute, simple messy bun which can be a great style for your toddler if their hair is long enough. She finished off the look with a little bit of silver glitter. Overall, it was a fun first experience and I can’t believe she was 2 1/2 before she had her first haircut!
